Let's try beginning with Jacob Light and moving to the left and hope it doesn't become too confusing. I have already found information disputing what is on the above tree from LDS. Since I have cited LDS, I will put any disagreeing information in green. I will begin with Jacob Light as he is leaving Virginia for a new life in South Carolina. The Lights appear in several generations in Virginia but often not at the same time. There was a lot of travel back to England and Barbados. The Anderson SC tax "roles" show that a Tyce (Matthias) and a Jacob Light were sons of Jacob Light, who is the same person I think as Jacob Light of Halifax who left for SC about 1780. Jacob sold some property before he left Halifax, VA to Robert Mann. information from researcher Steve W. Light on Genealogy.com I will probably be quoting Steve W. Light often as he has done an enormous amount of research on the Light families of Colonial times. According to the above researcher one of Jacob Light's wives was a Katherine Russell, who I believe was from Virginia, not South Carolina. Perhaps Katherine Anne??
